Neurological PT

Neurological conditions are disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, and nerves in the body. At Replay PT we provide neurological rehabilitation to help people improve their movement, strength, balance, and overall functional abilities.
Components of Neuro-Rehabilitation
Strength
Strength exercises are tailored to specific muscle groups to address weakness caused by a neurological impairment. These exercises help rebuild strength and improve functional movement.
Balance and Coordination
Static and dynamic balance exercises will challenge the body’s sense of stabilty so you can feel more confident as you go about your day. Coordination exercises target your mind-body connection to improve how your trunk and extremities work together.
Posture
Mobility and Flexibility
Stiffness and mobility restrictions can result when a neurological impairment impacts typical movement of the joints and muscles. Stretches and range of motion exercises help keep joints moving as they should and alleviate stiffness and pain.
Gait
Gait training addresses issues with walking such as shuffling, limping, difficulty with uneven surfaces or curbs, and problems with narrow or crowded spaces. This includes targeted practice with stair climbing so that you can continue navigating the city independently.
Preserving good posture is important for everyone but especially critical for those with a neurological condition. Corrective strategies can help improve alignment and endurance of the postural muscles.
Patient-Centred Approach
Our neurological physical therapy is individualized to the specific needs of each patient, based on their diagnosis, abilities, and goals. If you have one of these conditions, neuro-rehabilitation could greatly benefit you:
